Cooker hood repair enquiries
Separate the light from the extraction. Each tells us something different.

Begin with the behaviour.
A working light does not confirm a working fan; a moving fan does not confirm clear extraction.
Tell us which fan speeds respond, what the sound is like and whether the air route is ducted or recirculating if known.
What has changed?
These are possible assessment areas, rather than a diagnosis or an instruction to dismantle the appliance.
The extraction fan does not run
Which speeds respond and do the lights work?
Switching, motor operation or the supply may need assessment.
Extraction is weaker than expected
State ducted or recirculating if known and describe the change.
Routine filter care, the air route or fan operation may contribute.
The lighting fails
Do fan speeds still work and are all lights affected?
Lighting and fan circuits can have separate faults.
The hood develops a new sound
Does the sound change between fan speeds?
The fan, fittings or vibration may need examination.
One fan speed stops working
List the speeds that respond normally.
Speed switching or motor control may need assessment.
The hood cuts out in use
Record the time, speed and whether lighting also stops.
Temperature protection, supply or control may be involved.
Choose the name on the appliance.
After a power interruption
Write down what changed before you tried anything else. Preserve the exact display wording; do not repeatedly reset a tripping supply.
